Other teachers (Jim) have told me of the mythical magical summers days of lazy hours soaking in the rays. I never really understood a three-month break from work. I have always been blessed with having a job..for 15 years I have been a member of the American work-force, this began once I started babysitting. Well now I TOTALLY GET IT! 3 months off of work is amazing. The most work related thing I did this summer was help paint a bedroom and sleeping outside with bugs. Seriously you know you have had it easy when you can say..."in the last three months my biggest accomplishments are assisting in painting a room and going on vacation." Hello! Have I had it easy or what...and I am proud of it. Though having the summer off is a huge plus, it is pretty far down on the list of things that are great about teaching. My brain is working very slowly after a summer of sloth-fullness so I will have to fill you in on those things in a later post. I do rememebr what I have enjoyed :
Summer 2008 top 10:
1.
